 For many years Kyiv publishing house “Dukh i Litera” (Spirit and Letter) has fulfilled the wish of Ukrainian audiences to read classic texts of the humanities in their native language. “Dukh i Litera” publishes translations of those works, which by right can be called an integral part of the world humanities heritage in the fields of philosophy, social and political sciences, cultural studies, history, and theology. The PH always maintains high standards in working with texts. It cooperates with the best authors, translators and scientific and literary editors of the country. 

During its 17 years of existence  “Dukh i Litera” has published more than 300 books. Most significant were editions of various foreign writers, among others Paul Riceour, Hanna Arendt, Michel de Montaigne, Blaise Pascal, Sergey Averintsev, Charles Taylor, Reinhart Koselleck, Elie Wiesel, as well as Ukrainian authors Ivan Dzyuba, Mykhaylyna Kotsyubyns’ka, Viktor Malakhov, Maryna Novikova, Myron Petrovs’kyi, Vadym Skurativs’kyi, among others.
